I remember visiting you when Sydney was just a pup and my dog, Francois, was too. My dog had an accident in your house, which was very embarrassing, while Sydney was quite the gentleman.
I'm so sorry about your loss and know how empty you feel without him. There is NO friend like a canine friend. I do believe that they are our better half.
Thanks for sharing your memories of him with us. He was a beautiful boy and he had a wonderful life. And although you feel badly about the Rimadyl, I suspect that it probably did help him feel better from the arthritis and spinal pain (both of which can be intolerable) so maybe, in the long run giving him quality vs. quantity was the better of the two decisions.
You need to mourn your loss. He was a great companion to you (and a very handsome boy, too. ) And do remember that the pain does diminish in time. Sydney would want you to be happy, Hillary.

A very sweet story, Hillary! Yes, in time you'll only remember the good times you had with him, and forget the sadness. Cherish those memories!
